Tall Pines Win Nets "Triple Crown" for L'Estage

Bancroft, ON Subaru Rally Team Canada's Pat Richard and Alan Ockwell were unable to unseat the dominant Rockstar Royal Group Team of Antoine L'Estage and Nathalie Richard at the 40th running of the Rally of the Tall Pines. The win in Bancroft secures L'Estage the top of the Canadian Rally Championship, which, combined with his Rally America and North American Rally Cup, gives L'Estage the coveted triple crown of North American Rally.

Despite pushing all day, Richard and Ockwell were unable to overcome mechanical issues resulting from a hard landing. They would eventually be forced to retire on the final stage, and settle for second in the championship.

Team Swap Shop's Craig Henderson overcame his motion sickness issues of past Tall Pines runs to finish second and land third place overall in the championship, while teammate Bruno Carré finished third to take fourth in the Championship. Can-Jam Motorsports' "Crazy" Leo Urlichich retired after hitting a rock on the second stage, but rounded out the top 5 overall.

The 2011 season begins February 5th with Rallye Perce Neige in Maniwaki, QC.
