Ken Block to Run at Rallye Défi

Monster World Rally Team driver Ken Block will make his return to the Canadian Rally Championship at next week's Rallye Défi in Ste Agathe, Quebec.

The American Gymkhana and World Rally Championship star last took part in a CRC rally at Défi in 2009, crashing out early in the event. The mixed-surface event will be part of a limited schedule of stage rallies this year for Block, which has included both select Rally America and WRC events.

Despite his success in the Rally America Championship, Block's results north of the border have been mixed. Since winning the 2008 edition of the Rallye Baie des Chaleurs, he has not managed to finish a Canadian Rally. Although to be fair, two of those races were run in a RWD Ford Escort, a car that Ken does not normally drive in competition.

Block did, however, win the Rally in the 100 Acre Wood earlier this year, in addition to earning a silver medal at this summer's X Games Rallycross competition. He has also shown well in the WRC this season, posting two top-ten finishes in Mexico and New Zealand respectively.

Marking the fourth round of the 2012 Canadian Rally Championship season, Rallye Défi runs from September 7th to the 8th, with recce taking place on September 6th.
